430 miles on I-84 — a planned two-day haul
I’m Garrett. Vancouver, WA to Boise, ID is roughly 430 miles, almost all of it on I-84 through the Columbia Gorge, La Grande and Baker City, then across the Idaho line into the Treasure Valley. It is the first route on our board that genuinely wants two days.
How we run it
Day one: load Vancouver, WA mid-morning, drive past Hood River, Pendleton and Cabbage Hill, overnight in our sealed truck around Baker City or Ontario. Day two: roll the last leg into Boise, Meridian or Eagle, and unload before dinner. One truck. One crew chief. Both ends.
What is built into the flat rate
- WA UTC + Oregon DOT HHG + US DOT/MC authority filed on your job
- Driver per-diem and overnight
- Fuel for the full 860-mile round trip
- Released-value coverage standard, up to $1,000,000 cargo per shipment optional
If your Boise place is empty for a week or two before closing, ask about full-pack plus short-term storage on the Vancouver side. Pair this with the Spokane route if a family member is heading there too, or browse the broader long-distance directory.
